If it responded to something, however imperfectly, that might give you a inkling as to the nature of what'southward coating the windows. Or....are you lot certain that the brume is something ON the window and not fine-grit impairment of some sort to the glass surface itself?

Found this: http://thecraftsmanblog.com/how-to-clean-hazy-glass/ If information technology doesn't piece of work, you may have a broken seal and are seeing the "smog" betwixt the panes (if you have the free energy efficient double pane windows), the window will demand to be replaced because it will never go away.

  • Don't use SOS or other harsh abrasives like baking soda or Comet, etc! They will permanently scratch the drinking glass. If you have hard water and if the windows have been sprayed with it, like from lawn sprinklers, the the glass may take been 'etched' which is permanent damage and will not be able to exist removed. Or if you accept dual pane windows, which are sealed with some sort of a gas between the ii panes of drinking glass, the there may be leaks in the seals which creates cloudy windows. but that is from the inside and wouldn't cause y'all to experience that drag on the drinking glass. You might endeavor calling a professional drinking glass installation business concern to see if they have whatever ideas of what the problem may be. I'm sure they'd have a solution though - new windows! :) Promise you don't have to go to that farthermost expense! Best of luck.

  • My Grandma's tip - scrunched up newspaper and vinegar. She e'er had gloriously gleaming windows. Although I'm non likewise certain if the impress on newspaper is a carbon based ink these days. I can recommend WD40. It not merely gives the drinking glass a nice clean it besides repels water, and then no smears from the rain, sprinklers, etc. But a little squirt and and so smooth the windows.

  • Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Sheets for the win!

  • If all else fails, I'm afraid it has to exist live with them or go windows re-glazed.
